Oil Change is A Cheap Insurance for Your Car

Expert says that change the oil in your car - at least once a year, preferably in the fall. It's a cheap car insurance policy and less fuel consumption and less wear and tear.

Moist and then cold and chilly. Fall and winter is the car engine's worst enemy. The oil becomes tough and lubricates worse. Cold starts are tear on the engine. But there is a good medicine to your engine to cope with the extra strain:oil change.

- It's hard to pick out any exact percentages but better oil in the engine reduces fuel consumption and reduces wear.
 - And a good synthetic oil with good quality will protect the engine better than a mineral oil with less quality.

 Is good too expensive?  - Yes, unfortunately it's a bit like in our industry. I would have presented a good oil that was really cheap but unfortunately it does not work that way. But expensive is still cheap in the long run. Synthetic oil delivers lower fuel consumption and less wear and maintenance costs.

We change the oil often enough? - There are no exact figures on how much oil is changed every year, but total consumption is roughly unchanged. Obviously, it is good, from a technical point of view, if we can change your oil more often.

What is the most common error among car owners?  - They go on the number of kilometers instead of time in the service book. If it says that the oil should be changed every 2000 mil or a year, so many people forget that word or and only goes to 2000 mil. But an oil wear out and break down over time so it is good to change at least once per year.

Is there anything special we should think about for the winter? - Yes, really. It's good to have a fresh oil in the engine before the fall and winter, the time when most engine wear.
Synthetic or mineral oil? - A thin synthetic oil is better, especially in the winter. But there are also a number of variations on oil, mineral oil through various blends with synthetic oil to pure synthetic oil.

And synthetic oil is the most expensive?  - Well, look at that same manufacturer so does a mineral oil maybe 25 percent of what a synthetic oil costs. But it is overall not so big money. An oil change per year is not much in terms of what it does for the engine and what such a car costs.

What is the biggest risk to change the oil?  - It's not so easy to see when an oil has deteriorated and must be replaced, you can not see when the oil makes the engine wear.
Can I trust that a workshop always has good oils?  - Yes, authorized workshops usually have good oils that are based on the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.
